Our History
SK Fence, founded in 1981 by Steve Koester, was the market leader in the residential and commercial fencing industry. Quality workmanship, material, and professionalism of SK Fence had customers continuing to request more services.
BHI Inc, owned by Caleb Burton, was a growing business specializing in residential and commercial new construction roofing and siding since 2001. Completing jobs for contractors on time with quality they could trust allowed continued growth.
With the combined skilled leadership and quality craftsmanship from both SK Fence and BHI Inc., we became SK Exteriors in 2006. With Steve Koester’s business ethics and proven track record, and Caleb Burton’s highly-accredited home improvement knowledge and dedication to the business, SK Exteriors continues to be the leader in our industry with the ability to serve all your exterior home improvement needs.
Today and Beyond
Together with our team of managers, estimators, and employees, SK Exteriors can assure the highest standards. As all members of our team have an overall knowledge of all of our services, we train each crew to work in one trade as their specialty. SK Exteriors firmly believes in continuing our education to better serve the communities who trust us. As a result of this continued education, SK Exteriors is a James Hardie certified installer, Mastic siding Elite Contractor, Vinyl Siding Institute Certified Installer, EPA Certified, OHSA 10 / Aerial Lift and Platform Certified, and Low Slope Roofing certified.
SK Exteriors is currently serving customers in Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, Mattoon-Charleston, Decatur, Danville, Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, Lafayette, Terre Haute, St. Louis, Springfield and surrounding areas, and servicing commercial projects throughout the United States. With a combination of youth, experience, and great customer service, the future is bright for SK and our customers.
